CHURCH PLANTING, MISSION AND EVANGELISM
In 1992, Liberty gospel Church started with
Lady Apostle Helen Ukpabio as the visioner for this work. It was really a humble beginning, as there was no money, no assistance from any quarter but the only thing that was present, was the burden for the work. This kept me happy, strong, focus without any fear of failures or success. Today the church has about one hundred and forty three churches in Nigeria alone and many others outside Nigeria. The church that began with fifty eight people now has over fifty thousand membership spread all through about sixteen states out of the thirty six states of Nigeria. The church is also planted in Ghana, South Africa, Cameroon and the spread is still on.

WAYS OF REACHING OUT:
1) Soul Hunting (Targeting the unchurch)
2) Early morning cry
3) Crusades and special programmes to get the attention of unbelievers.
4) Personal soul winning exercise, one to one.
5) Through movies
6) Music
7) Soccer Evangelism
8) Journals and bulletins published and distributed free
9) Single programmes
10) Church Magazines
11) Planting of churches
12) Ministering to people with outstanding demonic problems.

SOURCE FELLOWS:
None of the Pastors or
Lady Apostle Helen Ukpabio had attended any Bible School or theological institutions. People used as Pastors are raised by her through her school of Ministry. On completion, they are assigned churches.

Key workers with good testimonies over the years, are also recommended for interview to become Elders and Deacons. At this level, an elder can preside over a church. Pastors are not picked from outside the Ministry, but those who repented in the Ministry are groomed and used as Pastors. There is no Pastor without a church. As the work of evangelism is going on, we are also building our church structures without ignoring Evangelism.
Since reaching out to the lost is the primary target, the church is divided into fellowships of men, women, youth, militants (University students and other higher institutions), and children with the aim for each fellowship to reach out and increase their fellowships. In recognition of this fact, we devote a whole week for each fellowship in a year to launch out and fetch the lost.

SOCCER EVANGELISM:
This is another great means of reaching out to the youth. The church has different foot ball clubs up to eight or ten football clubs. Competition is organized between them (inter – Liberty Church competition). The winning team is given trophy and they reign for one year. This has helped draw many youths into the church.

TRIBE:
All the members of the church are further grouped under Tribes. This is to help members witness within their neighbourhood and win souls and direct them to the church. In the Headquarters, there are twenty one Tribes. The Tribe gets increasing as more souls are worn. Tribal leaders are trained and made to head people in the region of 100, 150, 200, and 300. When a tribe grows to three hundred, the tribe is further split into two for further labour.

SUNDAY SCHOOL:
Every Sunday, all members of the church must attend their Sunday School, bringing in sinners with them. This is another way of gaining souls to the church. Every arm of the church must be a part of the church growth programme by introducing a sinner to the church. The Sunday School teachers are mature spiritual leaders – who are capable of communicating the word of God to others and to urge them to become responsible Christian.

LIBERTY CHOIR:
All Liberty Churches have their own choir. Music is a very vital aspect of ministration. It penetrates deep into the soul bringing about repentance from deed works, healing, deliverance, still peace and links the soul to God. It is in this regard that “music” is given time just like message to speak to the hearts of the yearning souls. In Liberty Gospel Church, the church choir sings twice before the preacher comes up to preach his message. A good song is a good message, since music gladdens the soul elevates one’s spirit and settles the sinner. There are up to one hundred and thirty choir or more in the Liberty Gospel Churches within Nigeria. A mass choir would consist of one to two thousand people or more.
The choir is not for commercial purposes but ministers inspirational spiritual songs that calms the soul or stirs up the soul for reception of the word of God. David played the harp for king Saul each time the evil spirits torture him.
This was the only way to calm the king down in his moment of demonic possessions, torture and oppressions. Music is very significant hence we have many different unit of choir.
